Job description: Technical Lead (.NET)

A consulting company dealing with ERP implementations, system integration, optimization of existing processes and the development of future strategic funds is looking for a Technical Lead (.NET).

PLEASE NOTE: We are looking for EU citizens living in Hungary, speaking fluent Hungarian and English, with few days per week presence in our office.

The role involves leading an in-house software development team, improvement and maintenance of payment-related back office solutions (bank transaction and statement management, fraud prevention, payment analytics).

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and partners with the Product Owner and Product Manager in designing feasible solutions for the customer’s problems.
  • Helps the System Architect(s) define the architectural runway (the existing code, components, and technical infrastructure needed to implement near-term features with minimal redesign and delay) through solutioning.
  • Contributes to the architectural direction for their team’s solutions.
  • Together with the team of developers, responsible for delivering commitments (includes some Scrum Master responsibilities).
  • Participates in development.
  • Leads discussions with the team about technical design and the technical decomposition of the work.
  • Removes technical blockers.
  • Actively participates in the recruitment, onboarding plan and onboarding process of new developers to get them up to speed.
  • Champion technical excellence and best practices: Helps the team achieve both great code and technical documentation quality.
  • Responsible for the team’s performance management and technical growth on a team and an individual level:
    • shares articles, advice, ideas and theories,
    • asks questions and sense-check ideas, thereby challenging the team,
    • mentor team members in their desired/needed directions, regularly checking in with them and finding the right challenges for them,
    • participates in introducing and tracking development and delivery KPIs.

Primary skills

  • .NET frontend and backend.
  • Relational databases (SQL).
  • Data modeling.
  • Solid understanding of Web Standards (XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, APIs, etc.).
  • Experience in reverse engineering current-state applications.
  • Knowledge and experience in design patterns.
  • Clearly communicating technical solution to a business-savvy or client-centric audience.
  • Mentoring/coaching remotely.
  • Fluent or native Hungarian.
  • Professional English.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in architectural design.
  • Experience in agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge and experience with cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience in CI/CD.
  • Experience with unit tests.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development.
  • Experience in node.js, AWS, etc.

Environment

  • MS SQL server.
  • Azure DevOps.
  • Visual Studio (may be subject to change, experience in other environments is more than welcome).

Software development methodology

  • SAFe.
  • Scrum.
