SAP Day at Pécs: Introduction

At the invitation of the leaders of the University of Pécs, our company’s representatives participated in the institution’s SAP professional day on October 13, 2023. The event was hosted by the Ifjúság street Campus of the UP.

The objectives of the event were to present the business use and development of SAP in practice, to introduce apprenticeship and internship programs, and to build relationships between the university community and the corporate sector.

The SAP Professional and career day at Pécs is organized with the support of the management of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Pécs and the staff of SAP Hungary Ltd.

The objectives of the Pécs SAP Professional Day initiative

The Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Pécs – in view of its almost a decade of SAP educational activities – organized the SAP Professional and Career Day on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, starting at 10:00 a.m.

The organizers of the conference set three main objectives for the SAP Day at Pécs event:

Through presentations, practical demonstration of the business use and development of SAP, with a case study approach. The objective of the presentations is to give the audience the opportunity to see as many tangible SAP applications, implementations and developments and their results as possible, through concrete examples interpreted by credible practitioners with experience in the field. In addition to the presentations, live SAP system and application demonstrations are also shown by the participant companies.
Job fair, to provide students about to complete their compulsory internships the opportunity to learn about internship programmes offered by the participating companies, and students close to graduation the opportunity to find out about junior programmes and entry-level jobs. Students attending the event will have the opportunity to learn about the entry requirements for these, such as professional knowledge, competences, skills, abilities, learning strategies, as well as the employers’ perspectives. To this end, in addition to the plenary lectures, the event will give special attention, space and venue to recruitment-related activities of companies, thus offering students the opportunity to lay the foundations for their careers.
To build relationships, provide forums and a platform to create and nurture a network between the teachers and students of the University of Pécs and the experts of the corporate sphere, and to lay the foundation of future collaborations.

Introduction of the University of Pécs

The University of Pécs is one of the largest higher education institutions in Hungary, with 20000 students, of which more than 4500 are from abroad.

The University has a total of ten faculties, the best known of these are the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Natural Sciences, which is organizing the event.
