Warehouse automation using SAP EWM and PLC
Due to the e-commerce effect, the traffic to be served by warehouses is increasing. Lead times are shortened, order profiles are transformed, and accuracy comes to the fore. All this is leading to the spread of automatic warehouses.
SAP EWM can connect to the PLC systems of automated material handling equipment such as stacker cranes or automatic packaging systems as a standard functionality. Onespire Ltd. is able to fully implement and deploy such solutions together with Modim Ltd.
To demonstrate our capability, we have built a demo warehouse. With the help of this model, we can simulate real-world processes by connecting our EWM system to an industrial PLC directly and executing inbound, internal and outbound stock movements.
